Gas Line Connection & Repair
A gas line is a pipe connecting a gas appliance to the main supply of natural gas. Gas line installation or repair is a job best left to a licensed and insured plumbing professional.
The risk of making a mistake outweigh the cost of hiring an experienced professional. A gas line is typically made of steel pipe and is often dark gray or black and sometimes referred to as a “black pipe”.
Homes with natural gas have a main shutoff valve located just before the meter, sometimes called the street-side valve, which can shut off the supply of gas to the entire home.
A second main shutoff valve is located just after the meter. Each appliance connected to the gas line will also have a shutoff valve to that specific appliance.
