NEED TO STOP LEAKING WATER NOW?
If you have a lot of water spraying or pouring from the toilet right now you can try shutting off the water going to that toilet:
- Locate the toilet shutoff valve knob, usually located at the wall just behind the toilet (there will be a water line running from that valve to the toilet).
- Turn the valve knob clockwise, till it stops. This will cut off the water going to the toilet. You will still be able to use running water in other fixtures or appliances throughout the rest of your house.
If the valve is difficult to turn you might wear a glove, or you can use a wrench if needed.
IS WATER STILL COMING OUT OF THE TOILET?
If you’ve turned off the toilet valve but water is still running out? You can turn off ALL the water going into your house:
- Locate the main water valve (it’ll be near your water meter, close to the ground).
- Close the valve by turning the valve knob clockwise till it stops. You might need pliers if it’s difficult to turn.
This should stop the water flow, till we get there to perform the repair fix, and we’ll turn your water back on.
